The motto of the French Revolution was painted on the walls of Paris, but was progressively abandoned. Revived in 1830, with the short-lived revolution of that year, it was not adopted officially until 1848, and the consequence of death disappeared, along with other earlier formations. Embossed on the inner arm of elegant kid gloves, the watchwords may appear from time to time, and those that were not retained are restored to an Arcadian scene.
